5 Quick Fire Questions on……..Champagne
Interviewee: Paul Beavis, Managing Director UK & International, Champagne Lanson International LTD.
The London Summer Event Show shared some bubbles with the UK Managing Director of luxury champagne brand Lanson, to talk about what they are best at…Champagne of course!
1. What do you love about Champagne?
It’s ability to always make any occasion feel special.
2. Why is Champagne (in your opinion) good for a summer event?
Champagne Lanson is an affordable aspirational brand that appeals to everyone. Just look at the success we have had with our relationships with Chesterton’s Polo in the Park, The Championships, Wimbledon and others where we have retained our exclusivity. Stylistically, its a refreshing glass that you can enjoy at the right times of the day.
3. Which foods pair the best with a glass of bubbles?
There is no exact science to this as it is all about personal taste. However, with our own brand, we have found that all of our bottles can be enjoyed with or without food because of our unique taste which is truly mouth-wateringly fresh, with an exceptional purity of fruit. We also know that our Black Label is the perfect aperitif that can also be enjoyed by itself, our Gold Label works well with white meat and poultry, our Extra Age Brut NV works won- derfully well with richer fish dishes such as scallops, truffles and Game. Our Extra Age Brut Rose NV is perfect with lamb. Our Extra Age Blanc de Blancs NV is a great accompaniment to seafood and Turkey. Our Noble Cuvée Brut 2000 is perfect with Oysters, fish terrine or lobster. Finally, our Rose and White Labels work very well with summer berries, most desserts – or on their own.
4. What sets Champagne apart as a drink for a special occasion?
People respect the value of what they are buying and investing in. Champagne is the perfect affordable luxury to lift any special occasion. We spend a minimum of 3.5yrs making one of the finest champagnes in the world (just look at all the accolades we’re winning! )
5. What is the secret to Champagne Lanson’s long history as a Champagne brand?
At Champagne Lanson we believe that it is all about what’s inside the bottle that matters, which is all down to its ageing process. Our bottles are aged for a minimum of THREE years. All of our bottles feature their disgorgement date which marks the end of the maturing process and commitment to its authenticity. And a steadfast commitment to producing Lanson Champagne in the original way, which although takes longer to make than most others, it’s our commitment to doing what’s right not what’s easy.
