City Cruises adds multi-million pound boat to its fleet
City Cruises (the river thames sightseeing operator) have recently launched their new and improved City Alpha vessel following its £2.4 million refurbishment.
The vessel returns to the 20-strong sightseeing fleet, offering tourists and Londoners 360° views of London’s skyline and marking the start of the next generation for City Cruises.
The renovation used over 90 tonnes of steel, 5,500 electrical cables and 1,200 litres of paint to breathe a new lease of life into the vessel.
Weighing nearly 300 tonnes and with capacity for 399 passengers, the City Alpha is often referred to as a ‘glass boat’ due to her large panoramic windows, which have been replaced with 120m2 of fresh glass. In addition, there is a new upper deck, outfitted with modern seating designed to provide a more comfortable and enjoyable sightseeing experience for all.
Kyle Haughton, Managing Director for City Cruises says, “The new City Alpha marks an exciting point in the development of the City Cruises brand. The boat’s design offers panoramic views of the city skyline and will give our guests a unique chance to see many of London’s landmarks from the river that runs through it. ”
City Cruises will be exhibiting at the London Summer Event Show on 24-25 January 2017 at Banking Hall. Click here to register for your free ticket to the Show and meet the events team from this exciting venue.
