Tackling Sustainability In Events, One Step At A Time …
Here at the London Summer Event Show, we are always conscious about the environment and the impact we have on it. This year’s Show theme, Summertopia, is inspired by the ever-changing world we live in and the current climate challenges we face.
We know that we must start acting NOW to create a better and more sustainable world, and have taken extra steps at this year’s Show to alleviate more waste, educate ourselves and our attendees and give back to our communities and those in need.
Take a look at what you can expect to see at this year’s Show below and some of the things you may not spot but are happening in the background…
SUSTAINABLE SIGNAGE!
All of our signage at this year’s Show will either be hand painted or printed on a sustainable board called Dispa, which is 100% recyclable. We have also taken into consideration where we source our signage from and are using a local supplier.
NO CARPET!
You may notice at this year’s Show, we no longer have a carpet in the Main Hall at Banking Hall. By removing the carpet from the venue we are hoping to prevent more materials going to landfill, reduce waste and limit transport emissions.
WE’VE GONE DIGITAL!
We have gone digital and created a Show Guide App, to try and reduce our environmental impact. You will get access to this app prior to the event, where you will be able to find all exhibitors attending, what seminars & workshops are available and create your own event schedule.
PLANT BASED MENU!
This year, we are working closely with our catering sponsors, Camm & Hooper to create a mostly plant-based menu in the hope to reduce our carbon footprint. We will still be providing some meat products for those who would prefer, but this will be a small addition to add to the plant based offering.
LEARN FROM THE EXPERTS IN OUR SUSTAINABILITY SEMINAR…
Explore the ‘Best Sustainability Tips from Real Events from 2022’ with industry experts, Matt Grey (Event Decision), James Simpkins (2 Heads), Holly Bedford (First Event) and Chloe Jackson (Smart Group) as pass on their top tips of how to measure and reduce the environmental impact of your event.
We are super grateful for your support of our Shows and the wider event industry and look forward to seeing you later this month.
Further details and joining instructions will be sent to you a few days before the event.
Sunny wishes,
The London Summer Event Show team.
